(1) My daughter, Julia graduated from grade 8 and she turned 14 on July 7 (am I really old enough to have a teenager?!) Here's a picture of her on grad night - I was one proud mama!
She won the literacy award - I was so proud of her!
(2) We saw Katy Perry in concert and let me tell you - she was amazing!
Next year for sure!
Now I shouldn't really complain since we leave for Australia in two weeks! We're gone for three weeks and it's going to be an amazing trip - I will be sure to post photos:). We get back one week before school starts so I am frantically trying to get everything ready for September before we leave.
I wanted to let you know that I have done a full update to my Daily Sight Words unit. This unit now covers Fry's First 100 Words. The best part - there is NO PREP! This is a huge packet that consists of 20 weeks of fully illustrated sight word sentences. Each page is a pattern sentence that focuses on a specific sight word. When students are learning these crucial words it is important that they are given the opportunity to practice spelling them and using them in context. The sentences build in complexity as you progress through the unit. You will be delighted with your students progress using this unit!
I have included:
*a description of how I use this resource
*a colourful list for each week that can be displayed in your classroom
*smaller lists that can be put on a ring for individual use
*a sight word booklet to track word mastery
*100 pages of sight word pages
*booklet cover page
Here's a peek:
I have a grade one/two combination class and I use this unit with my grade ones.
I use my other sight word unit Teaching Your Little Monkeys How To Use the Word Wall with my grade twos.
I have been busy making classroom library sets and I'll be back to share them with you tomorrow.
Cheers,
Natalie
